“Adventurer” Wolfmaan posted a great video review of what people call the “commando wire saw” which is basically just a regular wire saw with tacticool marketing. If you’re like me and have thought about buying one but haven’t made the jump this video gives what seems to be a good accounting of the performance, and some novel ways to use it including making a home made bow saw. Watching the video it’s clear that this device is not the most efficient tool out there, but it’s more than adequate especially where weight is a concern.

Using that saw looks like it took forever. Using it as a bow saw was even less efficient. Using less effort would be to lean your 2 inch stick on the big log and break it with your leg. In a survival situation, I’m not looking for thick logs for my fire. This product is totally useless.
